Are you struggling to find your purpose in life?
Have you noticed these days that we have become obsessed with finding our purpose? People everywhere seem frantic and stressed in trying to find it and work out what it is.
And that’s because most of us make the mistake of assuming that our purpose is something external from ourselves. Most of us think that our purpose is found in a job, a relationship or in a particular role (such as being a mother/father).
When in fact, purpose is something that comes from within.
How do you want to feel?
My understanding of purpose is working to understand how you want to feel - what particular emotion is it that lights you up? Do you crave inspiration? Or maybe it’s connection? Once you understand what primary emotions is it that drive you, you then work to cultivate those emotions in your daily life. Constantly look for ways to increase true connection, for example, or to create more opportunities to feel inspired.
Your purpose then comes when in doing so, you then inspire others to do the same.
That’s it. It’s not wrapped up in a career, it’s not found in some label you place upon yourself... it’s understanding how you want to feel, cultivating that feeling every day and then sharing it with the world.
So I’ll ask you now, how do you want to feel? What emotion do you want to reflect back into the world?
